【1212craft】Less is all I need:

  Happy New Year! 這就是 1212craft | Less is… “Less is all I need“ 這一刻,我對  Less is... Less is all I need"。

From Not Being a Book Person to Falling in Love with Reading - KOBO eReader

A Fresh Start: Falling in Love with Reading in 2025 Every new year feels like a blank page—a chance to try something new, learn, and grow. For me, this year is all about rediscovering something I didn’t expect to love: reading. Growing up in Hong Kong in the 1970s to 1990s, books were expensive, and reading wasn’t a popular pastime, especially since the previous generation had limited education. With other forms of entertainment and activities taking the spotlight, reading simply wasn’t a priority. But life changes, and so do we. Last August 2024 that I gifted myself a Kobo Libra Color, which completely transformed my view of reading. Since then, I’ve immersed myself in a world of stories, and I can’t imagine going back. I’m so glad that now, I have the choice to read in both English and Chinese, opening up a whole new world of options. Kobo, as an ebook platform, offers a treasure trove of translated books—works by English-speaking authors in beautifully translated Chinese editi...

The result is a neat and organized area—keeping things in the cabinets and surfaces clean. It feels satisfying. In May, launching my online store marked a big move, featuring my handmade pottery and setting the stage for future handcraft projects. Exciting times ahead! I returned to the pottery studio in September, create new pieces, reconnecting with my pottery pals. November brought a heartwarming reunion with family, friends, and my pottery sensei, Mr. Kato, in Nagoya, Japan. I have also explored a unique pottery studio in Hong Kong. It's been a fulfilling year, se...

A Journey Through Hong Kong and Japan: Tales of Enchantment and Surprise

圖片
Greetings! I’ve just returned from a fulfilling journey through Hong Kong and Japan, armed with my camera to capture the beauty of the places I visited. Here are some brief highlights that might offer insights for your future travels to Hong Kong and Japan. Embarking on this journey, a valuable insight emerged:   Booking a Hong Kong hotel in advance might dent your budget. I reserved a room at a delightful 4-star hotel in Jordan, Kowloon, for just US$88 per night, a mere 3 days before my flight. However, the price would go up to US$168 if we wanted to extend our stay. Consequently, we opted for another luxurious 5-star hotel in Mong Kok, booked just a day prior, and discovered it had slashed the regular US$299 rate to a pocket-friendly US$148 per night! Hong Kong adventurers, here’s your hotel-hacking secret! However, Japan presents a different scenario; it’s advisable to secure your hotel room well in advance. Exploring Hong Kong's culinary scene?   It might give your wallet ...

Embracing a New Photographic Companion Today, I'm excited to share my journey of choosing a new ally: the Olympus M43 camera. In a world dominated by smartphones, I ventured beyond the latest gadget to explore the art of photography on a deeper level. Olympus: From Past to Present  Starting with an Olympus full-frame camera many years ago, I captured special moments on a budget. While smartphones surged in popularity, I yearned for a touch of professionalism in my work. But as technology evolved, a void emerged – a desire to craft more refined product shots in my work and hoping to capture the treasure moments in my life. A Perfect Match: OLYMPUS E-M10 Mark IV Recently, I embraced the OLYMPUS E-M10 Mark IV, a model that resonated with my needs. Dissatisfied with the iPhone 13 Pro's distortions in some angles, I again opted for a digital camera. Knowing the quality OLYMPUS offers, my return to the OM SYSTEM felt natural. Receiving nods from professional photographers online, I f...
